““In 2016 we purchased multiple copies of Surviving Police Stops with Dignity, written by retired St. Paul Police Sergeant Melvin Carter, Jr. Melvin is also very active with Save Our Sons, in St. Paul that helps young men of color. The book is written from Melvin’s perspective as an African American male giving advice to younger black males. Each crew in the Department was issued a copy and we have one in the lobby of the Department to share with the community as well. Feel free to stop by and give it a read.
